My Father is a Hero, My Mother is a Spirit, the Daughter (Me) is a Reincarnator Chapter 27

CHAPTER 27

Esteem Father, Please Reflect

Translator: Masakibluei

At the moment, Ellen is playing with Isabella and Lawrence. Ellen’s happy voice can be heard coming from the garden. After checking her whereabouts from faraway, Rovel heads to the garden.

Even though Ellen can see Rovel’s appearance, she only slightly glances at him without saying anything and then hides behind Isabella.

Rovel: “………Ignore!? She ignores me!?”

Due to the shock, Rovel makes a pitiful face.

Isabella: “Ara, Rovel. What do you want?”

Rovel: “a……no. With Ellen……”

Because Ellen averts her face from him, Rovel is making an extremely pitiful face. Standing between the two of them, Isabella is amazed to see Rovel in such a pitiful state.

Isabella: “Did you talk with Albert properly?”

Rovel: “Y, yes…I removed his punishment already. That’s why Ellen, can you turn your face to me? Father already talked with Albert properly, so can you forgive me?”

When Rovel said that, Ellen who holds Isabella’s skirts tightly only reveal her face a little bit.

Ellen: “…Esteem Father.”

Rovel: “Ellen!!”

As he heard Ellen begins to speak to him again, Rovel breaks down with a wide smile on his face.

Ellen: “I think Esteem Father should talk properly with the people around you. Especially about the things that bother you because humans and spirits hold different values.”

What Ellen has said truly pierced his heart. Certainly, it was the case. A part of Rovel’s and Ellen’s are human, and the other part of them are spirit. He should properly explain to the people around them beforehand about what are the things that spirit hate.

Ellen: “Moreover, it’s wrong to push the blame to Uncle Albert. It was because Esteem Father neglected your family matter that he came up with a plan and took action by himself to save our family.”

Rovel: “………Yeah.”

After Rovel starts to behave decently, Ellen finally comes out from Isabella’s back. Rovel languidly holds his knees and becomes depressed. Apparently, his daughter was paying attention to her surrounding before she made a decision and took the right action on his behalf.

Thus, Ellen pats Rovel’s head who is squatting while making a spiral on the ground with his finger out of depression. Standing by the side and watching the interaction between the two of them, Isabella occasionally lets out a voice, ‘Ara ara’.

However, Rovel who has been forgiven by Ellen takes an advantage of the situation to cling to his daughter. In addition, he rubs his face against his daughter’s while hugging her. His impulsive actions astonish the people around them. While being trapped in his embrace, Ellen looks at him with cold eyes and mutters, ‘This guy…………’. Despite that, Rovel keeps being oblivious of Ellen’s reaction.

Ellen: “I understand that Esteem Father thinks about me dearly. However, if you plan to make me into a bait, please let me know ahead. Didn’t I give you unexpected counterattack too? Then shall we think together how we are going to deal with the ‘Black bellied man’ next?”

(Masakibluei note: Haraguro means malicious, but the word is consisted of ‘Hara = belly’ and ‘Guroi=black’)

“It was a terrible counterattack,” Rovel admits with a distant look on his face. In addition, he also didn’t expect that he would be attacked with another deadly hit by his daughter in his weaken state. He barely felt alive when his daughter chose to ignore him.

Rovel: “I want to say of course, but who is this ‘black bellied’? A, nope, I actually know who you are referring to is His Highness. But what is ‘Black bellied’ mean?”

Ellen: “It means that the inside of his stomach is completely black with a lot of evil tricks. Basically, a person who is crafty by nature.”

Lawrence, Isabella and Rovel who are present are burst out in laughter.

Rovel: “What a perfect description!!”

Rovel is having a fit of laughter, but Ellen continues to talk.

Ellen: “Likewise, Esteem Father too is also black bellied.”

Rovel: “WHY!?”

This time only Isabella and Lawrence are laughing out loud.

Rovel who is having Ellen withdrawal symptom, keeps hugging Ellen and refuse to let her go.

Ellen: “Esteem Father, it's annoying.”

After being criticized harshly, Rovel finally lets Ellen go. Then he once again goes into depression.

Lawrence: “Hahhh……It’s quite intriguing to see various unexpected sides of Lord Rovel, isn’t it.”

Isabella: “You are right. I never thought that my son would ever wear that kind of expression on his face. “

Currently, Isabella is enjoying her tea time while Lawrence is standing behind her to serve her. At the same time, the two of them have been thinking about what Ellen said before in the garden.

“I think Esteem Father should talk properly with the people around you. Especially about the things that bother you because humans and spirits hold different values.”

What Ellen said might imply the future of their relationship. Rovel has become a semi spirit, therefore there is some uneasiness that he might distance himself from them because they are human. Ellen had foreseen this possibility and let them know that they need to discuss how they are going to continue their relationship with Rovel from now on and inform the people around them.

Lawrence: “Lady Ellen is truly amazing.”

Isabella: “I completely agree with you.”

While she is a different being, she still thinks in favor of the family. Would Ellen ever understand how happy they are about this?

Ellen’s existence does not only help to rebuild the Vankriff family, but she is also the source of solace for the servants of the house, and ultimately, she helps to mend the broken relationship between the Vankriff family members.

Translator note:

I feel like Rovel already distanced himself from his family even before he turned into a semi-spirit. He already had a communication issue with his family since he was young (and to think that no one in his family who rejected his engagement with that piggy Agriel?). Now that Rovel is a semi-spirit, does that mean he will be more biased to spirit compare to humans? That a possibility.

  1. Rather than semi-spirit I believe the proper term would be Demi-spirit just like how beastkins in most novels are classified as "demi-humans"

  4. I think it's something of that they couldn't do anything about agriel. I mean it sounds like only the father was supposed to go to war. Rovels inclusion caught. Agriel and co. by surprise.
