I Want to Be a Receptionist in the Magic World CHAPTER 14 Part 1
HARE EMPLOYMENT YEAR 1

It has been 3 months since I start to work at Hare. I have been sitting in the same place for the whole time. My job tasks do not change up until now and overall, I have been doing well in performing my duties. So far, there is no big mistake. The only thing that I did wrong was spelling a client’s name. His name was Darwinians Vestral V Adagnu. I never heard a long name like that before. Thus, I made a spelling error with one of the alphabets when I was filling up the form. Because of that, I wasted a piece of paper.
I asked him to said
his name for the second time and I even wrote his name in another piece of
paper first. However, I still made a mistake in writing his name. Even now, I
don’t forget the client’s sour face at that time. No, I can’t forget his expression.
It was rude of me to misspelled a client’s name and to prevent this kind of
incident to happen again, I start to study names from around the world.
“My precious
Linx has runaway. Can you find someone to search for him for me?”
“My only
daughter is going to travel by herself. Can you find someone to escort her in
secret? I’ll give you money as much as you like. Until she is tired of
traveling, can you keep escorting her?”
“Ghost insects
appear near my house. It bothers me.”
“At the hill……”
In addition, there was no dangerous request recently. (To be precise, I personally never received any dangerous request at all). All the requests that I have accepted are such as finding a lost child or being an escort for a prominent daughter, or other similar requests like that.
Nevertheless, currently, we are in a peaceful time, so this is the phase for those kinds of requests to arrive. By all means, this is not a calm period before the storm neither. Later on, a terrible incident might happen unexpectedly, hence a dangerous request will naturally be coming too. For this reason, this period of time is actually perfect for the newcomers at Hare to get more familiar with the company and the job.
In the meantime, we
have received one or two requests related to demon. Those two requests had a
generous amount of rewards and without a delay, the requests caught the
attention of the exorcists. After one or two days, the requests were solved so
quickly by the exorcists. The group of exorcists seems to be a bunch of hot-blooded
people. They were so eager to do the demon extermination so quickly.
Furthermore, they are so unscrupulous for the sake of their livelihood and I
don’t think I will ever understand their way of life.
Nanari: “Sun sign
and inverted sea.”
Well, let’s leave
that aside.
Nanari: “Make a
circle………and another ancient letter, huh?”
While sitting on
the bed and reading a book, I put all of my concentration in writing a magic
circle on a piece of paper.
Nanari: “………A,
that’s right. I have to eat lunch.”
However, when I look at the time with a hungry stomach, it’s already noon. I tidy up my bangs and put the straggling hair behind my ear. After putting behind the pen brush, I go into the kitchen and decide to cook my own meal today.
Since a month ago, after I got the Dare Rabidos from Director Loctis on my first day, I have been spending my day off to insert different kinds of magic circles into the stick. In contrast to my expectation, I don’t have any chance to use magic at all at my work. If I don’t do any practice, my skill will become dull eventually. Therefore, at times like this, even if it is slightly different from the magic original function, I have to practice my magic. Once a magic circle is cast with the Goddess Stick, the stick will memorize the magic circle and it can be used anytime to activate the magic circle. At least, I think this stick can memorize hundreds of magic circles.
The process of inserting the magic circle into Dare Rabidos itself is quite interesting. The magic circle is absorbed into the main inner part of Dare Rabidos. It looks like collecting a thread of yarn. The line of the magic circle is being sucked up into the stick. However, the troublesome part of the process is drawing the magic circle. I have to draw the magic circle for each type of magic that I want to input into Dare Rabidos.
For the last two days of my day off, I have been writing magic circles with intricate design from “Old Magic Circle” book which was sent by Mom. While looking at the book, I have written 5 magic circles so far. If it was a simple magic circle, I could have finished written about 20 magic circles. But the intricate design of the old magic circle is tightly composed of ancient alphabets and peculiar drawings. It took me about a half day to finish one magic circle.

old magic circles that I wrote are also matched with its complex designs.

Teleportation (magic that helps you to travel instantly regardless of the distance)

(healing magic that can only be used on a dying state)
Dead man’s life. (magic to help you talk with the dead once)
Open Mouth Trick
(It works well against a person who cannot stop talking. The other name of this
magic is Vomiting art).
And with a normal
amount of magic, these difficult magics can be invoked. These 5 magic circles
are the ones that I have inserted into the Dare Rabidos.
I feel like the title should now be "I Want to Be a Receptionist, But I Got Bored and Accidentally Made The Ultimate Weapon (Stick)" :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'm just being wierd, but there's a phrase that just doesn't sound right to me.
ReplyDeleteIt's "I'll give you money as much as you like".
I feel "I'll give you as much money as you like" would fit better.
If not, even changing it to
"I'll give you money, as much as you like" even changes the way it's read to be more fluent.
I'm sorry I'm such pain, and this is not meant in any way to be a complaint or a gripe.
I know just how hard it can be to notice very small errors when translating and localising story's.
