My Father is a Hero, My Mother is a Spirit, the Daughter (Me) is a Reincarnator Chapter 37

 CHAPTER 37

I Have No Beard Anymore

Translator: Masakibluei

Ellen: “Grandma, everything will be fine. I’m Grandma’s ally!! The moment Father said yesterday that he won’t return, I was extremely mad!!”

When I angrily said those words, Isabella once again breaks into tears.

Ellen: “Don’t cry, Grandma.”

Isabella: “I’m sorry. I’m not crying because I’m feeling sad……These are happy tears………For some reason, when Ellen dear puts it like that, it feels that everything will be fine……”

Ellen: “Grandma……”

When I hear Grandma said that, I become choked up with emotions. Henceforth, I determine to pitch in and help her.

Rovel: “………Mother, Ellen is like that, so……”

Isabella: “Wait, Rovel! Are you going to take Ellen away?? I won’t let you!!”

Isabella once again squishes me hard into her embrace. I can’t breathe.

Ellen: “Ugghhh………”

Rovel: “Mother! Mother! You squeeze her!!”

Isabella: “Gyaaa! Ellen dear!!”

After Father rescues me, I’m finally able to breathe. That was a close call. I thought I was really going to die. Right after that happened, Sauvell comes into the room.

Ellen: “Uncle Sauvell-!! You shave your beard!!”

As I scream, I run towards him to hug him. Sauvell also looks happy to see me. He opens his arms and carries me into his arms.

Sauvell: “It’s been a while, Ellen.”

Ellen: “Yes. Congratulation on your marriage. I’m sorry that I cannot attend your wedding ceremony.”

Sauvell:” It’s alright. Thank you. Your feelings are more than enough. After all, the Royal family were coming too.”

Ellen: “Yeah. Speaking of which, Uncle looks much cooler without the beard!”

Sauvell: “A, is, is that so………?”

While being carried by Sauvell in his arms, I am laughing at Sauvell who feels shy from the compliment. Suddenly, I heard someone is holding their breath standing behind Sauvell. Subsequently, I turn my eyes behind his back.

Aunt Aria is standing right behind him.

As I look around again to check, it seems that their daughter, Lafillia is not coming with them. I ask Sauvell to put me down and go towards Aria to introduce myself in a manner that is appropriate for a noble lady.

Ellen: “Nice to meet you, Aunt Aria. I’m Rovel’s daughter. My name is Ellen.”

Aria is so shocked that she becomes stiff like a statue. Feeling unhappy, Sauvell coldly reminds her to reply my greetings. Following his order, she replies my greeting timidly. When she looks at my face, she seems to be reminded of my mother. Her face turns slightly pale.

As I lose interest in her, I return to Isabella’s side. Then Both Sauvell and Aria sit on the opposite sofa, facing me, Father and Isabella.

Meanwhile, Father does not greet Aria at all. He is being apparent that he is in a bad mood while telling a lie that he is just not feeling well………I just sigh inwardly as I look at him acting like that.

When I turn my gaze to Aria, I catch her stealing some glances at Father. Judging from her reddish eyes, I think she still has no conscience about her own sin. Consequently, both Isabella and Sauvell are burning in anger and the atmosphere becomes heavy.

Sauvell: “Older brother……you have something to say to Aria?”

Rovel: “Not me. It’s Ellen.”

Sauvell: “E?”

Ellen: “Yes. I am the one who wants to talk with Aunt Aria.”

I said those words while wearing a big smile on my face. Naturally, Aria is surprised and says, “what do you want to talk about?” while treating me as a small child.

(Ah, she underestimates me!)

Her reaction is a given. In general, no one will ever feel threatened by a small child. However, I keep my composure and begin to speak to Aria.

Ellen: “Aunt Aria. I know the reason behind your conviction. I would like to talk directly with you about it. Rather than a talk, this is actually a warning.”

Aria: “Eh…………”

Aria is bewildered from my remark. She restlessly looks around at everyone and in the end, she turns to Sauvell with pleading eyes to ask for his help.

Everyone keeps silent except for Sauvell who opens his mouth and speaks to her.

Sauvell: “Ellen is extremely smart. Despite being the same age as Lafillia, she has already involved in the Vankriff family business together with Older Brother. You have to take Ellen’s words seriously.”

Aria: “What did you say………”

Then I begin to speak.

Ellen: “Mother cast a magic to conceal your sinner mark because of her concern for Uncle Sauvell. But you ignore the Goddess’s warning and the magic becomes useless. Originally, since you confessed your own sin to Uncle Sauvell, she intended to dispel the magic. But if other people see your sinner mark, things will get even worse. Therefore, she decides to keep it as it is. This is Mother’s message. “

Aria: “So tha, that’s what she means.”

Ellen: “Did you think that if you talk about the circumstances to Uncle Sauvell, then he will forgive you? Maybe even pity you? Who will forgive a woman who confesses that she keeps thinking about another man during the wedding ceremony? Your confession itself is an insult to the Vankriff family.”

Isabella nods in agreement over my biting remarks.

Ellen: “Even though you have heard a lot about Agriel, you did the same thing as her.

Aria becomes ghastly pale after she heard these words. Agriel’s ending fate has become the talk within the country, so she must have heard about it too.

Aria: “I, I didn’t mean to do that!! After all, aren’t we going to become a family!? Naturally, I just want to get closer with Brother-in-law!!”

Ellen: “Older sister Val gave you a conviction because deep down you also notice that your feelings toward Father are impure. “

Aria screams at my words. On the other hand, Sauvell feels extremely upset but he holds his emotion down and continues to listen.

Aria: “Of, of course it’s not like that!! How can a child like you understand this kind of thing!? I’m the one who completely understands my own feelings!!”

Ellen: “But I do understand.”

Aria: “Wh, what……?”

Ellen: “Older sister Vol is a Goddess who can see everything and Older sister Val is a Goddess who gives out convictions. Together, they exist as one. Those two renowned Goddesses have warned you. Furthermore, your behavior also reveals your own heart.”

Aria: “What do you mean……?”

Ellen: “Even though the Royal Family cannot see the sinner mark, His Majesty saw the moment of the conviction and instantly recognized it. “

Sauvell: “………I’m sorry. I have given the Royal Family an opportunity to contact you……”

Aria is unbelievably shocked when she sees Sauvell bows down and apologize to me.

Ellen: “It’s not your fault, Uncle Sauvell. My contact with the Royal Family is just coming earlier than we were expected. Sooner or later, it will happen anyway. Don’t worry about it.”

While I say those words with a smile, Sauvell looks at me with apologetic eyes.

Ellen: “Aunt Aria. The Vankriff family is an extremely indispensable existence for the Royal family. No matter what we do, the Royal family will keep trying to make contact with us.”

Aria: “I, I know that. Because Brother-in-law is a hero.”

Ellen: “It’s not because of that.”

Aria’s mouth becomes distorted when I refute her.

Ellen: “The reason why the Royal family persistently targeting the Vankriff family is because of Father’s power.”

Aria: “……Brother-in-law’s power?”

Ellen: “That’s right. Father holds extraordinary power, and he is the strongest knight in the world. Because of your selfish desire, they will lose this power. This is the current situation that we are dealing with now.”

“…………!!!!!!”

Father seems to have noticed it too. Sauvell finally also understands the magnitude of the issue and his face becomes really pale.

Ellen: “Because of you, Father who is afraid that his relationship with Uncle Sauvell will be broken has declared that he won’t return home anymore. “

Aria: “No way……Bu, but, what this has to do with the Royal family……”

Ellen: “What will the Royal family do if they get to know this? Because of your fault, they won’t be able to secure the power that they want from this family. Father is extremely valuable to them. When the news of his return was spread out, the war with the neighboring countries disappeared. Even only with his name, Father is able to stop the neighboring countries attacking our country.”

Aria: “E……neighboring countries…? War?”

Ellen: “If the one who disturbs the Hero gone, the Hero might return. The Royal family will most likely come to think that in order to avoid war, they just have to sacrifice one person.”

Aria: “……person…who disturbs……sacrifice……

Ellen: “It’s you. Aunt Aria.”

I warn her that she has become the target of assassination by the Royal Family.

Translator note:

Ellen is talking about politics. But it makes me wonder. If Rovel is that powerful, why won't he overthrow the royal family? The previous King was a jackass to their family and Lafissel is even worse to deal with. They are a burden to the country since they do not hold any kind of power and they are also cursed and despised by the spirits.

  1. Cliche might be that the Royal family has something they can counterattack with...they have sacrificed spirits before, after all...

  3. Thanks for the chapter! Assassination plots are cool and all, we have to be grateful that assassins don't give their abilities special names right? "Hearken, the evening bell has tolled thy name..." Anyways, I can't wait to see what happens next!

  4. They are all awfull with Aria. One cannot control her feeling at will. They can be burried or reflected on, but it take some time. Also, why are they mad at her for telling the truth? It would have been much worst treason if she did not say anithing. She was seeking help but got completely rejected by everyone, even by her husband. I'm not saying that they do not have the right to feel angry or stabed in the back, but they are only cornering her, going as far as locking her in her room, with her child none the less, rather than talking and being suportive when they all know that she love her husband. I have mutch more sympathy for her than I have for anyone else in this story up till now. And I fear that they will push her in a very, very bad trail...
